Sharing knowledge Events

Monthly Gatherings to Honor the Past, Seed the Future

At Rural Hackers, we believe innovation grows best when rooted in tradition. Our monthly Sharing Knowledge Events are a living exchange—where ancestral crafts meet modern tools, elders swap wisdom with digital nomads, and forgotten skills find new life through collaborative experimentation.

Since before 2023, each month, we gather in in anceu to learn, teach, and reimagine what rural resilience looks like. Basket making using centuries-old techniques, then 3D-print stuff. These events aren’t about nostalgia or disruption—they’re about weaving a living tapestry of knowledge, thread by thread, byte by byte.

A Fuchiqueira

A Fuchiqueira is an afternoon filled with creativity, innovation, and exploration. We started by 2023. It’s a time for intergenerational knowledge sharing through a variety of workshops from traditional knowledge to Tech one. This event embodies the spirit of invention and natural exploration, encouraging participants to engage in trial and error in a supportive environment.

Green Misions

Thanks to the coordination with the Forest Association, since 2023, we participated in the cleaning of the Anceu forest. We removed eucalyptus that were sprouting again in an area cleared of eucalyptus two years ago to regenerate and plant a forest of deciduous trees.

We helped clean a traditional path to recover a historic trail, adding stones and drainage for the water. More info here.

Entre Culturas

Our international community came together since 2023, to showcase traditional dishes from various countries, all prepared by the locals of Anceu Village. This events highlighted the village’s culinary diversity, offering insights into different cultures through food. We enjoyed sharing stories and learning about each other’s traditions, creating a vibrant display of Anceu’s cultural richness. These gatherings allowed Anceu Village locals to share their traditions with an international community, celebrating and enriching our understanding of cultural diversity.
