Hacker Days
Hacker Days is a hands-on, collaborative event organized by Rural Hackers that brings together technologists, designers, and rural enthusiasts to co-create innovative solutions for pressing challenges in rural communities. Over the course of one week, participants work in teams to develop functional prototypes—such as apps, tools, or systems—that address specific local needs, like water management, biodiversity monitoring, or digital inclusion. The event emphasizes community involvement, ensuring that solutions are practical, sustainable, and rooted in the realities of rural life. The next edition of Hacker Days will take place from September 1 to 7, 2025, at Anceu Coliving in Galicia, Spain, focusing on creating a digital solution to simplify water consumption tracking for the local water association. This event is open to anyone passionate about using technology and creativity to make a tangible impact in rural areas.
